Recently, the term “AI” has become increasingly common in daily life, and it is showing remarkable capabilities in many areas. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, and some systems can create images, write lyrics or music, and even produce narration by receiving instructions in the form of words or sentences called prompts. By utilizing such AI technologies, even people without specialized knowledge can easily create films. This event is a screening in Japan organized by OMNI, based in Sydney, Australia, which hosts an international film festival for movies created using AI. Around spring 2025, approximately 1,000 works were submitted by creators worldwide who were curious about “what kind of films can be made using AI?” Among these, 17 films passed the expert review process and will be screened at this event. Why not take a look at a glimpse of the AI-driven world we face today and explore questions such as “What can AI do?”, “What is human imagination?”, and “Who is the real author?” On the day of the event, an online talk with the organizers and a guest speaker will also be held alongside the screenings.
