Inheriting landscape

2024

Glass, capsule to, etc.

Size variable

This project was part of a residency organized by the Taiwan Art Space Alliance, where I participated as an artist / art practitioner. Drawing inspiration from historical Japanese and Taiwanese painters whose landscape works contributed to environmental conservation, I created glass artworks using locally specific materials and techniques with the help of local children and an university professor. The completed glass pieces are placed in capsule-toy machine for sale, with proceeds to be donated to environmental and educational organizations.

Details of my residency, including observations, experiences, and the background of my work, are compiled in a booklet titled "A Japanese Art Practitioner in Residence in Taiwan & His Journey Journal" (Full Version as premium content / excerpts are available to browse from below). If interested, please visit the contents via the links.

The total sales from the capsule toy project amounted to 600 TWD, which was donated on October 13, 2025, to the Trust in Nature Foundation, an organization engaged in nature conservation activities that incorporate education, outreach, and art programs.

Thank you very much to everyone who contributed.
