About the Activities
I have been using art to address social issues both domestically and internationally.
Through residencies and field trips in various regions, I work to address social issues hidden within the Japanese community where I live, as well as issues I've been able to tackle through connections with people overseas. My activities aim to promote creative proposals and practices for addressing local social issues, foster international mutual understanding, deepen well-being and learning, and share these ideas.
Based on the connections and experience we have built up over the past 20 years or so, we have been able to focus on activities in Nepal, Taiwan, Switzerland, and Japan in recent years.
Through our projects, we deepen our learning and exchanges, translate social issues into art, and connect people and places both domestically and internationally.

In recent years, I have had the opportunity to teach classes in Nepal that encourage local art students to propose creative solutions to social issues they face; in Taiwan, I collaborated with a local university professor to create a gacha machine featuring small artworks of local children painted on glass, a local resource, as part of an environmental conservation effort; in Switzerland, I implemented exchange programs and exhibitions based on mental health research; and in Japan, I carried out a project that allowed local residents to relive the memories and stories of those working to utilize vacant houses and revitalize local networks.
I have been working as a freelance artist and art manager for about 20 years, but I am facing the reality that it is extremely difficult to continue such a multifaceted career.
